Churrifically Churros-y French Toast

This indulgent twist on Hong Kong–style French toast sandwiches chocolate‑filled bread, fries it until golden, then rolls it in cinnamon sugar for a churro‑inspired finish. Drizzled with condensed milk and chocolate sauce and served with generous scoops of Ben & Jerry’s Churrifically Churros‑y, it’s a dessert that’s big on comfort and even bigger on flavour.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 slices white or milk bread
  • Chocolate sauce (for spreading)
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tbsp caster sugar
  • 230ml milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • Large knob of butter
  • 150g granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Condensed milk, to serve
  • Chocolate sauce, to serve
  • Ben & Jerry’s Churrifically Churros‑y, to serve
STEP BY STEP:
  1. 1. Build the sandwich

Spread chocolate sauce between the slices of bread to make a thick sandwich.

  2. 2. Mix and soak

Whisk together the eggs, caster sugar, milk, and a pinch of salt. Dip the sandwich into the mixture, turning carefully so the bread absorbs the custard without falling apart.

  3. 3. Fry until golden

Heat the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the sandwich on both sides until golden, then briefly fry the edges for extra colour and crispness.

  4. 4. Churro‑coat

Mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon together, then roll the warm sandwich in the mixture until fully coated.

  5. 5. Serve and scoop

Drizzle with condensed milk and extra chocolate sauce, then serve with a few large scoops of Ben & Jerry’s Churrifically Churros‑y.
