“Fall” in Love with Vermont

We’ve never been one to play favorites – 98 ice cream flavors and we could never pick just one. When it comes to seasons in Vermont, though, fall is our hands-down favorite. With the foliage in full effect around our factory in Waterbury, we thought we’d share with you a few other reasons why autumn is simply awesome.

  1. The wood stove comes back to life!

Shorter days and cooler nights signal the return of the smoky aroma, toasty comfort and crackling of a wood-burning fire. How’s your wood pile looking?

  2. Plaid is rad!

What’s not to love about your favorite flannel? In Vermont, it’s totally acceptable to wear it to work (whether that means in the yard or at the office) or on your Friday night date. It’s woolly, it’s warm, it’s a fashion miracle!

  3. Apple picking…

…which leads to apple pie, apple crisp, apple tarts, apple sauce, apple cider, apple cider donuts, Vermont’s famous apple and cheddar sandwiches, and any other creative ways we can think of to use the surplus we always seem to pick.

  4. Breathe it in.

Autumn air is like a perfect apple—crisp and refreshing. And it puts all the bugs on the first flight to Florida. There’s no better time to get outside and explore Vermont’s trails and treasures.

  5. Cold rainy days.

Chilly, damp days are the perfect excuse to curl up with a movie, book or your favorite TV show…in the middle of the day…with no FOMO (fear of missing out) on anything. Rejoice!

  6. Halloween, of course!

How could we not love the copious amounts of candy around the office and the excuse to dress up ourselves (or our poor dogs) in stupid costumes.
